You guys... this may not be ground breaking for y'all, but I am SO excited about my latest find.
Mostly because I didn't even know these little guys still existed.
I thought date stamps were kind of a thing of the past... but I guess not!
I love how this one has little quotes right beside the date. I bought this at Hobby Lobby for $6. If you were patient enough, though- I'm sure you could find it half off!
I plan on using this during journal writing ESPECIALLY at the beginning of the year
{before you've even taught them how to write the date}.
I'm going to use this stamp for about a million and one other things- assessing, documentation, running records, etc. What else can you think of that you could use this stamp for?! I'd love to know!
I LOVE my date stamp!! I use it on all their tests that ih ave to file! or their notes...

ReplyDeleteI love mine too. Since we are constantly assessing, I have to know when a particular assessment was given. I used to put a date stamp on each student table so they could stamp their journals. Date stampers can be put at the writing table.
ReplyDeleteI thought of that too.. might have to try at the writing station and see how it all goes ;)
DeleteI love the date stamp, too! I have found mine at Staples but without the fancy quotes. It would be the child's job, if they collected the papers, to date stamp all of the assessments. I would prep it for them (they could do it themselves) and they would stamp away.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking around for that "perfect" stamp, but with no such luck. I love yours! I like the way yours has all those quotes, too. So adorable! So, original. At my school, students have their own personal agendas so, at the end of the day, they need to complete their agendas and then, I sign off on them. So, instead of personally initialing each and every agenda, I was thinking that a quick stamp would do the trick. I would also want to stamp their supplemental workbooks such as: math, language, and cursive writing and along with their art work.

Lovin’ Kindergarten
I never really thought about getting a date stamp, but I think I will now!
ReplyDeleteI used to use my date stamps all the time, but I think they are lost in my desk. As a management clue, I would teach my kinders "one, one, done" - one time in the ink pad, one time on the paper, done. Worked great!
ReplyDeleteMy first date stamp was given to me by our librarian when our school library switched over from stamping library check out cards to checking out books electronically. Dates me, right?
ReplyDeleteWhen that stamp broke, I was out that same night getting a replacement! Would hate to be without my stamp!
So cute and such a fun idea:) I was just at Hob Lob too and walked out empty handed!!!! I know!!!! WHAT?! LOL! Guess I'm going back:)
ReplyDelete4th Grade Frolics
what?!?! TARA!! How is that even possible?! ;)
DeleteWhat a great idea! I found one at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas stuff when it was marked way down. Now I know how I can use it :)

This is so wonderful! I used them when I taught Kinder, but my first grade friends were great at writing the date! I'm so glad you reminded me about this! I will definitely be snagging a few. My old school provided them! We had about 4 per classroom!! Isn't that fantastic!? Did you use your 40% off coupon on it?! I'll probably take the hubs with me so we can walk out with more! HA!

Mrs. Richardson's Class
I had a date stamp when I first started teaching, but then it became outdated. I actually included one in my supply order for next year because I have missed it terribly!! They are a MUST in the classroom!

ABCs and Polkadots
I use a date stamp for journals and assessments, too. I also use it to stamp due dates on book orders and the dates I receive notes/communication from parents. There are a million uses:)
ReplyDeleteMine is not fancy, though:( It is just from Staples. I am going on a hunt for a cute one ASAP!
I was @ Michael's last week & saw this too. I went straight into teaching mode. I left it there bcz I wanted to truly be on vacation. Guess who's going back to get one THIS WEEK!! TFS
ReplyDeleteThat is a brilliant idea!!

I have 6 date stamps from Office Max that my kiddos use during writing time. It makes them feel so grown up, and then I have good, dated samples of their writing! :)
