Soo...this whole washi tape thing.. I didn't get it.
I didn't get what all the hype was about.
So, I found some at Target the other day. I thought I'd give it a try.
I slapped some on my computer. You know, for fun.
Then I found myself decorating my writing folders with the stuff.
Then I bought some craft sticks to make name sticks..
I have a problem!
I plan on writing my kids' names on the sticks once I get that roster {ahem..I'm super jealous of you all that get your lists in the summer! SO. JEALOUS!}
I also strategically used 5 different patterns of the Washi tape so I can also use these for picking groups when we're not working in our regular station groups. I think I'll make another set for reading pointers, and maybe I can find some star tape for space men! The list could go on and on!
I got this washi tape from scrapbooksteals.com - I know you can also purchase it from lots of stores on etsy or Michael's. But you can't but just one roll. This stuff will suck you in!!
What other ways can you think to use it?!

I am the same way! Target's tape was an easy buy because it was right where I was already shopping.

Have you ever used tape as a border on your bulletin boards? I used a decorating tape on one of my boards and loved it! The tape didn't take up any of the board space and it did not get torn as the regular boarder has a tendency to do sometimes.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I am not sure what to do with it, but I am scared I might like it(a little too much) if I try it! :)

I have also become obsessed with it this summer! Trouble!! I am decorating a letter for me and my para and a K for first day pics with it. LOVE the idea of the Popsicle sticks and will be doing that also! Thanks!

I love the look of the washi tape! I have a problem getting it to stay though. It peels off so easily! How do you keep your washi tape from coming off your items, for example the sticks?? Does anyone else have a solution or am I just doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteI haven't done it yet but I plan to get five colors (red, orange, blue, green- polka dots would be perfect:) then put on their pencils so we can keep track of them! Hoping we can not lose so many!
ReplyDeleteI keep looking at and then walking past the washi tape when I see it... I'm going to have to finally give in and try it next time!

I JUST bought Washi tape recently! I haven't done a lot with it YET, but I did add some to my magazine holder in my classroom library!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you so much for posting this. I have seen washi tape before and it is SO cute but I could never figure out what to do with it. These are fabulous ideas! Thanks so much!!!

Thank you for your great ideas! I've heard of Washi tape but wasn't quite sure what it was, or what to do with it. Off to Michael's or Target tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI am a washi tape addict! I have it on the dollar store clipboards to decorate those (with contact paper over it as it does come off if you don't). I put it on clothes pins last year to hold student work. I use them on popsicle sticks too for name sticks.
ReplyDeleteI use it to label containers as it will come off super easily. I use it in my calendar to mark certain things. I use it on note cards or notes. I added the masking tape washi tape onto all of my cubbies this year on the front to add more decoration and then attached their name label to that. Will come off easily in June.
I have over 20 rolls, including the washi tape organizer/dispenser from Costco I bought a while ago.
