Writing Workshop Folders

Hi guys!

I have been doing writer's workshop in my classroom for the past year and have been working on perfecting our writing folders. I think I got it right this time! I used offices last year, and while I liked them...they were a bit cumbersome and it did not have folders to actually store our writing in!

Take a look:

If you're interested in purchasing, there are editable covers and word walls in the packet so you can customize it to suit your students' needs! Check them out HERE.

  2. Do you let your students add words to the word wall reference sheet as the year goes on? Or do you put all the words they need to know by the end of the year on the sheet?

    1. Hi Julie! I give my kids all of the words that they will need to know by the end of the year, but as we learn them, they highlight the words off of their personal word walls.

  3. Do you have a post that explains your writer's workshop? Everyone keeps talking about it, but I'm not exactly sure what it entails. This folder looks great!

  6. I'm loving this simple trick for making your Writer's Workshop folders. Do they hold up well? Or do you need to reapply the tape during the school year? Thanks for sharing.

  18. I am desperate to make these, but unfortunately they don't sell these type of folders in the UK. I've been searching all over the internet, but it will cost me $50 just to get them shipped from the US :(

  20. Ok SUPER Silly question... What are the prongs on the second folder for? I purchased this amazing tool from TpT, but just wondering if I'm missing something with the prongs. Thank you!
