Goodies!

Ya'll... my day was NOT off to a good start this morning!
Luke decided while I was making eggs for breakfast that the toilet was a good place for my phone!

I know... you're thinking, shouldn't the doors be close to the bathroom? Yes! Usually they are, but we're painting all the trim in our master bath so.. there are no doors! eeek!

I heard him banging around in the bathroom (this is NEVER a good thing...he's known to empty whole t.p. rolls into the toilet, throw shoes, etc in..!) and when I walk in he's FLUSHING the toilet with my phone in it! eeeeeeeeeeeek!!! Ya'll, I can't leave him alone for a nano second without him doing something destructive! oh, my little BOY!

sheesh!

Needless to say... I pulled it all apart and have it in a bowl of rice to hopefully dry it out. It's not working yet! So..off to the Sprint store next to try and get some horrible replacement phone for the next year before our contract is ready to renew!

Anywhoo.. I went up to school yesteday to start pulling all the stuff out of our closet.. and left my room like this:
It's a work in progress, and I do feel a little bit better about at least getting the desks arranged! {look at my chair pockets! woot woot!}

Well, at least I crossed a few more things off my to-do list:
 I made this little set of objective posters. Do you guys have to post your learning objectives for the world to see? Parents, principals, (the kids? I mean, c'mon.. they don't read these until at least 2nd grade!) but I do like having them posted because: 1) I have to 2) It helps keep me accountable. I laminate the posters and hang them up (on my door usually... everyone who comes in or out sees them without looking hard) and then write my objectives with a dry-erase marker weekly.

Next, I made these table numbers:
I've been inspired by this pin:
{click the picture to take you there}

So I made these labels:

I have labels numbers 1-5 and then a teacher table.
I think I like the small flower best - I found it at a party supply store for $2. The big one..might be a little too much, but I need to see it in my classroom first!
Click HERE if you'd like the table labels. Obviously you don't have to use them on the flowers - they're just super fun that way! :) They would be cute laminated and hung above the tables as is!

  8. OK, I can totally relate to your story about Luke...My little boy, Ryder, is 15months and EVERYTHING goes in the toilet! I usually keep it locked or put up a baby gate, but my 4 year old likes to leave the doors unlocked or open. Yesterday he threw an entire packet of crayons down the toilet :(

    Your hanging table signs are VERY cute! Our school won't let us hang anything from the ceiling, which stinks because there are so many cute things that I could be hanging!

    Looks great!

    1. I know!! Sadly.... we just got rid of insurance in March (the hubby had to use it for his phone, and you still have to pay $100 with insurance! When you add the $8 a month... more than the new phone is worth... but times like these...wish we still had it! :0)

  12. Not only do we have to post the objectives, we also have to post the standards. And we are expected to repeat both at least 4 times during the lesson. And I teach Kindergarten. I think this is a little much...but I love your posters! And your table numbers!

    I am a new follower! I hope you'll check out my manly kindergarten blog!

    1. oh goodness! Yes that is a little too much! I mean... I understand that the kids should know what they should be getting out of the lesson - but 4 times?!

  13. I LOVE the cell phone story. I'm finding the joys of raising a boy after raising two girls. Nothing in the house is safe from him. He's 18 months and loving the trouble he stirs up. I feel your pain and appreciate the humor!

  17. I love these labels! Is there any way you could make a table 6 and 7 label? I have a fairly large class this year and 5 tables is too little. I'd greatly appreciate it :o)

  23. Hi! I was wondering if you had a lack with the owl table numbers to six? Also, I'm not using owls this year. Is there anyway you could post a pack exactly like yours but without the owls?? I LOVE them and they will help so much in my room :)
