So, because I know you are on the edge of your seat right now - my favorite color is ORANGE!
{all of you that chose pink..it's allllmmoooost a tie, but orange is my very favorite!}
And because only 4 of you guessed orange, all of you ladies will be receiving my packet in your inbox in a minute! 9isfine, you didn't leave an email address - please leave me a comment so I can get you your goodies!
Are you ready guys?! I've been coveting Abby's pennant banners ALL. year. long, I was so so SO excited to have the time to make them!! I'm linking up with Tara for Monday Made it!
It was SO stinkin' easy to do! If I had known that..
I LOVE how they turned out!!
{my mantle was the best place I could find to hang them... I can't wait to hang them up in my classroom! I have a perfect place in mind!}
Abby's little tutorial was perfect, go check it out!
I laid the triangles out along the ribbon to see how much I would need (I used a whole 7 yard roll of ribbon). I just free-hand cut one triangle and laid it on top of the fabric to cut the others out semi-uniformly.
Then I laid out the "stitch witchery" on top of the ribbon, placed the triangles (upside down on top of the stitch witchery) and then ironed! Easy peasy!
While I was at it - I spray painted my toolbox pink (see! you were right about the pink, too!!).
Have a fabulous Monday, friends!
Great blog! What did you use to spray paint your toolbox? Mine are gray and they need to be spruced up. Thank you!
ReplyDeletewww.kindertrips.blogspot.com
I used the Krylon fluorescent pink spray paint. {it's 30% off at Hobby Lobby right now!} Mine was grey to start out, too so the pink did a good job of covering it!
DeleteSOOOOOOO super cute!!! Love the banners:) And the pink toolbox!!! Thanks for linking up:)))) Can't wait to see what you have in store for next week:))) Pink is my fave color:) I would have guessed pink:)

I got it from Home Depot - it was like $16.60-something. SO worth it! It was by the tool boxes/ organizational stuff

You are so welcome Shuna!! I am semi-motivated. I have these great intentions (like your gazillion page list!) and I only get half of it done! boo! And next week swimming lessons start! Talk about a time zapper! Join Tara's linky - it gives me motivation every week!
DeleteI've had pennants on my brain (for a project) all week. I never would have thought fabric...I was thinking paper. This makes a TON of sense. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThe toolbox looks fab, too :)

I love how there is no sewing involved. My sewing machine is missing some pieces and so this is a perfect fix.

HI sweet friend! You are definitely not missing any TEKS for kindergarten contractions. I made the unit for first and second grade. I am a former second grade teacher and I was asked to share the love of creativity with them, too. :) SO no worries for you on missing a TEK. You are good to go. :)

Sprinkles to Kindergarten
haha whew! I have seen other bloggers writing about contractions and lots of other things that I KNOW are not in our TEKS! I mena, I teach more than we're supposed to, too, but I was thinking "contractions?! really?!" haha thanks for letting me know lady! I love your packs, by the way! Adorable!
DeleteHugs to you both! I have never had a Firstie come knowing contractions! I would die if I did! You both are awesome Kinder teachers and I wish I could get your kiddos! =)

You are giving me motivation...something I've been lacking for a while now! Love the banner! I want to make one, but I don't have a "good" spot in my classroom. I'm going to have to do some creative thinking about this one...

Hi! I just happened across your blog and am your newest follower! You have completely inspired me to try making the hanging pennants for my classroom. Yours came out great! =)

I love the fabric you used! I was contemplating a scrapbook paper banner...but I think fabric might be cheaper in the long run...it won't fade and I won't EVER have to redo it :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Adorable blog! I'm excited to be your newest follower!
Great job! I love the banner!
