A few more fonts!

Hi friends!

We've been super-de-duper busy in my class lately. Do any of you guys use iStation?! It is new to us this year and we are DROWNING in getting our kids on the program for the time they are all supposed to be on a week! (It is our new assessment/ intervention tool- a computer program; we used DIBELS before)

I have 3 computers in my classroom.
Tier 3 is supposed to be on 90 minutes a week- 3-30 minute sessions (they cannot be broken up into shorter segments or they do not get credit for it)
Tier 2 gets 60 minutes- 2 -30 minute blocks, and Tier 1 30 minutes a week.

There are just not enough hours in a day and I don't want my kids to miss instruction time!

I think we're going to have to go to the computer lab once a week... and miss stations 1 day :(

I will let you know how it all works out! Let me know if your district uses iStation! I would love to hear from those more experience with it!

Now for the good part!
TWO new fonts for your use!

I'm loving this funky one :))

I'd love to hear from you if you snag them up!

  8. LUV the fonts....I feel your pain...we use istation as part of our RTI...Tier 2 & 3 have to use interventions from istation as part of the documentation. As for time...it depends on the campus. I have 1 computer in my room and we go to the computer lab to test. I don't like how it tests the fluency. We also are going to use DRA again.

  10. I love your fonts! I agree that they are easy for kiddies to read. I teach ESL students and have to stay away from "script" fonts because they are so hard for the parents to read. I LOVE cute fonts! :)

  17. Thanks for the fonts!
Our district uses istation and I wish I could say it was fabulous... it is a nightmare to get all the required time in without them missing instruction like you said. And we have found that the students who actually NEED it are the ones who dislike it the most. I have kids who cry, sit and do nothing for the 30 minutes, etc. If you get all the required time in then it can be effective for RtI, especially for data (that you didn't have to do all the work to collect)... so good luck! And if you DO find a way to get all the required time in without pulling all of your hair out, PLEASE let all of us know. We have been drowning in this dilemma literally for 3 years now! Thanks!

  19. I just wanted to say that I SOOOO appreciate your fonts! The best part about this is that you have lower case AND capital letters for all of your fonts. So many cute fonts that I have downloaded only have lower-case letters making it sooo hard to create classroom materials! So, thank you!

  23. We also use Istation (as mandated from the state). It can be very daunting and time consuming. I stress to the kids to always put 100% into each session so that they can learn as much as possible (and test into Tier 1). Some Kids will never put their best effort into it and remain a Tier 2 or 3, even though you know they can do it. If you need tips/tricks/help, just holler :)

  29. Thank you so much for sharing your fonts. They're soooo cute! Can't wait to use them. Good luck with your RTI. We do not use that program, but have many of the same issues with the one we are using. I think the powers that be often forget that elementary students don't have study halls or free periods in their day. We work every second! The kids cannot leave do something "special" without missing something.

  31. We use. Istations in Abilene but this year we have a lab dedicated to just that. I go twice a week for 30 minutes and then I have the option of going once more for 30 minutes. I hate that we are out if the classroom so much though! If they are logged in for 20 minutes it will keep the data so I try for that!

  33. We use I-station but we are not requiring 90 mins of any of our babies just because we don't have enough computers and we are trying to keep it realistic. If they are on for 20mins it should keep their data. We do like it, but take the data with a grain of salt. We use Rigby to rate along with the istation and try to come up with a realistic picture between the two. However, the independence of the istation is nice if you can spare the computer time in your classroom. Good luck.
OH ---LOVE the Rowdy fonts. I think I have been able to download them all so far and have just about abandoned alot of the others I used to use. These are clean and always easy to read for all my fourthies!

  37. HI! First of all... love the fonts! I got that squiggle one, so cute! Secondly, I JUST did a training for our 4th grade teachers on iStation. Honestly, I LOVE it. I'm pretty sure that the students' data will be saving without the 30 minute log in time. We have students log on twice a week for 15 minutes each session, totaling 30 minutes despite tier levels and all of their data saves fine. I usually send kids (if they need the extra time) during a morning meeting time or another time where I feel they are not missing out on anything else. iStation is such a wonderful tool to use but, like another comment said, I take the data with a grain of salt especially the after the first assessment cycle.
I can't wait to hear more about how iStation goes for you.

  40. Hi Nicole,

I just love your Rowdy fonts. I was wondering what the terms of use for them are. Are they for personal use only or for commercial use, too? I make things for Teachers Pay Teachers and would love to use your fonts (and credit you, of course).
